Our Story

We didn’t come this far to stop

Over the many years, as tradesmen ourselves, we have installed and serviced PEX tubing systems. PEX is awesome, and we felt it could be better! We often wished that the standard short PEX barbs were longer so that we could install TWO clamps on each barb instead of being limited to one clamp or compression ring. There were times when we erred while installing the rings or clamps on the tubing. Often enough one ring would slip out of place and the compressing or cinching of the clamp would fail with crooked rings or clamps ending up half-off the end of the PEX fitting, squeezing just near the end of the barb, leaving us no option except to cut off the clamp and refit the tubing. If the tubing had no slack, we then had to add a coupling in order to fit the joint properly. We don't have to tell you that cutting off clamps or rings is not easy, you already know that. We also experienced times where the fittings leaked, especially on hydronic heating systems where the circulating water was near boiling point and softened the tubing, causing leaks at stressed fittings. Doubling up on clamps, that is having TWO clamps on each barb, would solve so many issues. When installing fittings above ceilings or to be hidden in drywall cavities that are expected to last the next 25-50 years or so, its not a bad idea to use our fittings with two rings on each barb to insure against leaks. It's also nice to have a second clamp in place in case one of the clamps goes on crooked. Peace of mind against expensive callbacks. Tradesmen want peace of mind when leaving a job site and this is one more "peace of mind" thing.

However since day one of PEX fittings, no one made the longer barb fittings to solve this issue. With the passing of decades dealing with this nagging issue we decided to take matters into our own hands and develop these high quality lead-free brass fittings. We call the system XPEX, short for Extended Barb PEX Fittings.

In 2025 we engineered and designed such a fitting, filed for patent approval with the US Patent & Trademark Office, filed for the trademark name "XPEX" and we are on our way. Our flagship product is basic, consisting of 1/2-inch Straight Couplings and 1/2-inch 90 degree elbows, as well as the same configurations in 3/4-inch size. We now have these products listed and sold on Amazon and links to Amazon can be found on our SHOP pages which display our products as well as shown below. As time moves forward we plan on introducing more styles and sizes that will be popular with our tradesmen friends.

We don't expect to take over the PEX industry, however we DO feel it is a great idea to keep a few of each size in your service van for those times when you wish you had the extended barb PEX fittings. We think you will be glad you have them on hand. Put them on your truck shelves for peace of mind.
